To apply, students must complete an online application and include a resume, academic transcripts, two letters of reference from a professor, instructor, adviser or supervisor, and a cover letter that describes the student’s background and where they plan to attend college. Responses to four essay questions will also be required.

The scholarship, formerly known as the Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship Program, is named after Dr. Anita Borg who devoted her adult life to breaking down barriers for women entering computing and technology fields. The scholarship encourages more women to choose the field of computer science and technology.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in DECEMBER of each year, and the award amount is usually $5,000 – $10,000.
