The 9th Annual Women’s Leadership Breakfast is a partnership with Challenging Minds and Assembly Member Mike Gipson and his wife LeCresha Gipson. It will be held on May 18, 2019 at the Wilmington Senior Center. The Women’s Leadership Breakfast embodies and celebrates the day-to-day physical and emotional challenges of women. Additionally, this is an opportunity for Assembly Member Mike Gipson and LeCresha Gipson to acknowledge women in the 64th Assembly District for their commitment and dedication to the community.
The Women’s Leadership Breakfast strives to support women spiritually to create a balance of well-being. Some of our past honorees have been Mattie Adams-Robertson, founding Principal Compton Early College High School and Harbor Teacher Preparation Academy; Raquel Beltran, Associate Director, Pat Brown Institute for Public Affairs; Medel Briggs-Malonson, M.D., M.P.H., M.S.H.S., Medical Director of Quality, Martin Luther King Jr. Community Hospital; Sergeant Krista Crocker, California Highway Patrol; Cynthia Gonzalez, MPH, PhD., Asst. Professor, College of Science and Health MPH Program in Urban Health and Asst. Director, Division of Community Engagement, Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science.
